Trustee Call Out

As a charity, trustees are critical to steering First Art’s course. We’re now expanding our board and are looking for new people to join us who bring energy and passion.

We want to build the range of skills around the table but to also help increase the diversity of the board, to better represent the communities we work with and are part of.

Who we’re looking for

Whilst we’re keen to hear from a range of backgrounds and experiences, we’d particularly like to hear from those with skills and expertise in:

  • Access, disability, and legislation
  • Equality, diversity, and Inclusion
  • Charity law
  • Fundraising and development
  • Developing sustainable, eco-conscious and ethical productions

We’re also very keen to hear from those that are:

  • Local to Mansfield, Ashfield, Bolsover, or North East Derbyshire
  • Aged 18 – 30
  • BAME
  • LGBTQ+

Our commitment to diversity, equality and inclusion

We want arts and culture to be something everyone can access, enjoy and be part of. Art and culture can both celebrate and contribute to the vibrancy and distinctiveness of a place and its people.

We’d like our board to reflect the communities we work with and are part of, as best they can. We also want to
ensure our board is diverse, to allow for better conversations, to gain different perspectives, and create work that
reflects the richness of our communities.

First Art actively encourages applications from people from diverse and under-represented backgrounds.
