Join our volunteer team and make new friends, experience world-class activity and develop new skills.

From dressing up inspiring spaces to being a friendly face for our audiences, our volunteer team are at the centre of all of our public facing events including The Full Shebang Festival. The Full Shebang is a brand-spanking new festival bringing a wide range of world-class shows and activities to Mansfield.

First Art volunteers play an important role in what we do by supporting the delivery of our events across Ashfield, Mansfield, Bolsover and North East Derbyshire. Our volunteers also ensure audiences have the best of time in a safe and high quality environment, and are on hand to provide information, support and guidance to audiences at the event.

In 2020 we’re looking for enthusiastic people to join our event team and help us put on more events like The Full Shebang Festival.

What we’re looking for in a volunteer:
  • You need to be 16 years or over
  • Good at timekeeping
  • Have a friendly and polite demeanour
  • Have initiative and a ‘can-do attitude’
  • Be a good problem solver
  • Able to work as part of a team
  • Willingness to work outdoors
  • Have an interest in the arts
In return, you’ll:
  • Gain invaluable experience to develop your CV and working in the cultural sector
  • Get exclusive behind the scenes experiences of our events
  • Meet new people and be part of a friendly and dedicated team
  • Learn new skills
  • Make a difference to communities across the East Midlands
  • Have a lot of fun and work with world-class artists
And, don’t worry, we’ll:
  • Take care of you whilst volunteering with us, providing food when working for more than four hours and making sure you get plenty of cuppas and  rest breaks during your day
  • Endeavour to make sure we enjoy our time working with each other too
  • Provide references for volunteers who are dedicated and work to the best of their abilities
  • Offer you relevant training for your development in areas such as First Aid
  • Host volunteer social events and team building sessions
  • Provide you with branded clothing to wear at our events
  • Cover personal travel expenses
