Creswell Heritage Trust works to protect Creswell Crags, one of the most important Ice Age sites in Britain. The archaeological park includes caves, gorge, museum and visitor centre in north Derbyshire/Nottinghamshire (it's right on the border). Creswell Crags is from where First Art takes its name, from the historic cave drawings on the site - the first known art made by man 13,000 years ago.
First Art is a registered charity (no. 1193429) and leads the First Art Creative People and Places programme in partnership with Creswell Heritage Trust at Creswell Crags, Junction Arts, Active Partners Trust, and Bolsover Community Voluntary Service . The consortium provides expertise and guidance of the Creative People and Places programme.
Junction Arts are a community arts charity, based in Derbyshire. Since 1976, they have developed and delivered engaging arts experiences within disadvantaged areas, to improve wellbeing, build confidence and skills, address inequality and inspire positive change.
