Pat, a group member of Shirebrook Get Together
“Now I can say hello and smile to people when I see them…”

Pat lives on the outskirts of Shirebrook and has been a carer for her disabled son for many years. She wanted to get out and meet new people, as well as learn something new.
Shirebrook Get Together offered her the chance for just that.
Attending a number of sessions in early 2025, Pat says the Shirebrook Get Together sessions have been fun and brought her much happiness.
“It’s been wonderful to look forward to something and laugh while doing new things. I loved the tea dance session where I jived for the first time in my life.
Shirebrook Get Together has helped me to meet new people. Now I can say hello and smile to people when I see them on the street which makes all the difference.”
