The second South Normanton Social took place last night, with another great turn out.
We had some really useful discussions about the assets in the local areas ranging from parks and green spaces to local buildings and networks such as SNAP Youth.

A great turn out to the second South Normanton Social
This opened up conversations about where events could take place, indoor or outdoor, and highlighted the range of wonderful assets in the community that our programme can work with.

Group members look at all the possible places events and activities could take place in South Normanton
A range of brochures from festivals and activity from across the country helped to open up ideas about the type of event the group would want to produce for South Normaton.
After lots of amazing ideas, ranging from hidden gardens to music festivals, we concluded on the idea of developing some sort of festival that could bring all these great ideas together.
All this great progress was made even more enjoyable thanks to local resident and Social member Jan. She served up a cracking buffet with chilli, potato salad, nachos and fruit for afters.
The proposed festival will hopefully take place towards the end of August 2020. A date will be firmed up after the next Social, on 7 April, and maybe even a name. So, keep posted!
