First Art is proud to be part of an exciting new arts volunteering initiative for young people in Mansfield and Ashfield.

Takeover is an arts and creative volunteering and skills development programme open to anyone aged 14-24 from Mansfield and Ashfield.

Led by Captivate, Takeover will create volunteering challenges, peer mentoring & coaching led by leading cultural professionals with collaborations from across Nottinghamshire and the East Midlands.

Young People will take part in an intensive 3-month arts and cultural training  programme as well as a youth-led festival outside of school hours which includes:

• • Training and skills workshops
  • Online mentoring
  • Challenge-Work experience
  • Go and See trips
  • Entrepreneurial skills
  • Future career and education advice
  • Being part of planning and delivering a large-scale Youth Festival in 2024.

When?

The project, starting in October 2022. will see a meet up every  there weeks on a Thursday evening starting from Thursday 6 October.

All young people will have the opportunity to have a dedicated mentor and to meet over online video.
