A man with dark hair and a beard, dressed in a light blue-grey short-sleeved shirt, grey trousers and pink socks is sat on a chair, flyng through the air as he bounces off a large trampoline. Surrounding him and the trampoline are items you'd expect to find in a house: a side table with a bottle of water and glass; a lightshade hanging down; a shirt hanging up; and a bird cage, also hanging. The setting is outside in a park gardens with bushes and palm trees. The scene is from a show called Anyday by Max Calaf Sevé.

Comic, absurd, surreal — a trampoline show that redefines the limits of what circus can be

A circus show like no other, and a day in the life like no other!

Max lives on a trampoline, with only his little pet bird for company. Every day is the same — until Max decides he wants a change, and together they embark on an adventure. Follow the two friends in their funny, bouncing daily routine, with breathtaking trampoline skills and hilarious clowning, in a brilliant and unique show for all the family.

Featuring extraordinarily acrobatic trampolining and set to an original score by Matt Huxley, it explores loneliness with darkness, light and ultimately bouncing joy — transforming the boings and clangs of unbearable hope to make our spirits soar.

Themes: loneliness and longing, handled with warmth, comedy and with happy ending.

Brilliant that such a complex narrative can be delivered through purely physical, non-verbal means — the children were totally engaged.” — Audience member, Jacksons Lane

About Max Calaf Sevé

Max Calaf Sevé is a contemporary circus artist specialising in trampoline acrobatics, object manipulation and physical theatre. He creates indoor and outdoor performances, challenging himself to obliterate the boundaries of what is possible on the trampoline. His performance aesthetic alerts us to the trampoline’s infinite possibilities and the stories it can articulate — tangible, physical, emotional, artistic.

Max trained at Rogelio Rivel Circus School and La Central del Circ in Barcelona, and at the National Centre for Circus Arts in London. He holds a postgraduate degree in Physical Theatre from Royal Holloway, and continued his training in Paris at the international theatre school Jacques Lecoq. Alongside performing, he is an accomplished circus teacher and facilitator.
