Four acrobats in pairs perform partner balancing stunts as part of their routine. They are outdoors under a cloudy sky, with colourful wooden beams and a modern bridge in the background. The Other Side by Ascension Dance addresses the ideas of bridging differences and divides for everyone to benefit. Watch as the performers find a way to work together and support one another.

The Other Side

By Ascension Dance Company
Dance Performance

12.30pm and 3pm at Buttercross (Location 3)

Each performance lasts 30 minutes

Suitable for all ages

Slide, crash and leap – a high-energy dance performance that tackles the ideas of putting differences aside for the good of everyone.

Inspired by movement from contemporary dance and parkour, The Other Side is a full throttle, risk-taking experience dance performance about selfishness and, as humans, our desire for more.

The Other Side is a highly physical outdoor performance that tackles the ideas of bridging difference and divides in order to all benefit. Watch the performer realise that the only way to succeed will be by finding a way to work together, support each other and lift one another up.

About Ascension Dance Company

Ascension Dance produces work that unifies contemporary dance and a raw physicality to create visceral and striking visual illustrations. With a keen focus on human interactions and relationships, Ascension Dance pushes the boundaries of communication through high-velocity physical encounters, which soar, slide and crash in the pursuit of unravelling what it means to connect with the places and humans around us.
