A young child with curly blonde hair and a blue headband is the right of the picture, in mid-stride, facing left with his body turned towards the viewer. In his hands he holds two long, flexible, bright blue tubes, which he is swinging outwards. His expression is one of playful concentration, his mouth slightly open as if in mid-exclamation or exertion. Despite the somewhat stark background, the scene is filled with a sense of imaginative exploration. The children's actions suggest they are engaged in a game, perhaps building a fort or creating a fantastical scene with the fabrics.
