Bellamy Road

Bellamy Road is an estate in Mansfield, Nottinghamshire with approximately 3,500 people living there. Like many areas, it has issues with crime and lack of amenities but it also has a number of fantastic people wanting to make a difference to where they live.

We’ve been lucky enough to link up with the Bellamy Road Tenants and Residents Association group and, by going along to many of their meetings, attending a few community events, and talking to people, we’ve manged to get a good sense of the place. We’ve been listening a lot, trying to take on board what we can do on the estate.

At one time the area had a social club and, until very recently, it had a SureStart centre. Both these are now gone. In terms of cultural activities for people on the estate, there’s currently very little. Having spoken to local people, we’re confident that by working with communities to put on activities and events, especially for families with young children, we can make a big difference.

What’s happening at the moment…

We’re currently planning events for 2020, waiting (and praying) for the weather to get a bit better as there are loads of amazing green spaces on the estate crying out for us to do something amazing on. We’ll be posting updates here of events and activities.
