Clay Cross

Clay Cross is a former mining town in North East Derbyshire.

Back in November 2019, one Friday night, we held a Curry Night Cabaret night which, unsurprisingly, involved people tucking into a curry whilst enjoying some top notch cabaret.

This event was our starting point, our open invite to Clay Cross residents to come to the Clay Cross Social Centre, have a great night out, but also to find out more about First Art and how to join our Social programme. We chose the Social Centre to hold the event, as it’s a well-loved and well-used local asset.

We had a great response to the event but disappointingly not many people signed up to be part of our Clay Cross Social to help us put on events.

What’s happening at the moment…

It’s been much harder to get things going in this area but we are currently speaking to a range of great partners to help set up a group. We are making good progress and look forward to working together with Clay Cross to co-produce events in 2020.
